Merry Christmas, or whatever holiday you may celebrate!

Anyone making new years resolutions? I am, kind of. Mine is to write more. It's not really a resolution, but it is something I will try to do. If I do, you will know, since it will be posted here :)

Anyways, Happy Holidays! I hope everyone enjoys them, or at least can tolerate them and move on ^_^

I love you all!

A day to remember (Part 1)

Sun Oct 19, 2008, 1:23 PM
Personal record of Alexander Starr, chief scientist of Mandrake Military Base. To those who did not see, or did not believe, our earlier small press release, today has the opportunity to be one of the biggest days in world history. Tonight's experiment aims to prove the existence of magical energies. Without going into classified details, we have obtained a relic that we believe can be used to channel magical energies. While I regret I cannot attend this experiment personally, I will be connected via video conferencing to the top scientists in attendance. Should everything go smoothly, another press release will be held tomorrow with our findings. For now, I must go prepare for the experiment. I will try to update this record regularly.

Autism Speaks? Read on...

Tue Feb 5, 2008, 10:08 AM
Recently the website autismspeaks.org was brought to my attention. On the surface it seems like a website designed to help and raise money for people with autism. However, the organization approaches Autism in a way that is offensive to nearly every autistic person who sees it. They treat it like a disease, something that cripples you and dooms you to failure. They stand behind theories that were proven false years ago, and have proposed a screening for autism at/pre birth, which could lead to abortions of autistics, many of whome could become great people.

One of the ways that Autistics have been trying to get their point across is by creating parody sites of autismspeaks. Recently a young autistic child (14 or so I believe) was threatened with legal action from Autism Speaks, seeking $90,000 in damages. Not only was the website completely legal, but the move was completely underhanded. In the end they made her give up the website, through nothing more than a group of lawyers bullying a child.

This link sums the story up pretty well, likely better than I have. [link]

In the end, I suppose I just want everyone to realize that people with autism and related conditions are not lesser people. They should not looked down upon or pitied, even though websites like Autism Speaks would have you believe so. If you don't believe me, go find an autism forum. Find the threads where they are talking about Autism Speaks, and see what they say. You will find nothing positive about the way they work.

You know, if the people you claim to be trying to help has nothing but bad things to say about you, maybe you should re-evaluate your claims, or try changing your approach. Just a thought.

Anyway, that's my rant for today. Let me know your thoughts on this.

Revenge

You thought you could kill me
You were wrong
So very wrong
You tried to strike me down
You failed
For years we battled
In the end, you locked me up
You got rid of me and hoped it was the end
But they released me
They try to control me
They don't know who they are dealing with
Soon I will be done with these fools
I will come for you
You who tried to kill me
You who betrayed me
You, my dear little sister
I will come for you
I will be your end, Kali
Be ready for me, sister
The time is near
